Atkins Family

PictureOld Pioneer Dairy Site, Tuggerah NSW
Clarence ATKINS was born in 1885, the second child of John and Elizabeth (Thompson) ATKINS.  John and Elizabeth were living in Camden Haven NSW, when two of their children died of diphtheria.  Elizabeth urged John to move somewhere less isolated, and on the advice of his younger brother George who was already living there, John moved the family to the Tuggerah area in New South Wales.
John and Elizabeth died in the Pneumonic Flu epidemic in 1905. They are both buried in Jilliby Cemetery.
Clarence was a member of the first Wyong Football Team. He went on to be a delegate and lifelong supporter.
Amy Ada BUCKTON was born on a property at Tuggerah which became the Pioneer Dairy site
